Rushyfields Care Centre
The Development
Located in the centre of Brandon within easy travelling distances of Durham, Crook, Bishop Auckland and Consett. The location has an excellent transport network and there are various local shops in the village.
The existing home had become outdated and fell well short of current care standard requirements, and was beyond economical upgrading and refurbishment.
The proposal was to completely demolish the existing home and construct a new 42 bedroom home, split over two floors with and an additional basement area. The home shall have the benefit of landscaped gardens and secure patio area, set within the existing mature tree surrounding.
The New Home
A local contractor commenced construction works in December 2008. The home is being constructed to a high specification throughout with quality workmanship. The home is on programme and work is in progress for the launch to happen in 2010.
The new facilities within the home briefly comprise:
